THIS IS A STRATEGIC ROLE

We are looking for a talented CATEGORY MANAGER with a background with supermarket, convenience Area/ Regional experience.

You will already be an Category Manager in a fast passed customer focused Retail food organisation, living around the Midlands, East Midlands Northampton area, but available to work and travel North and South...

You will have an excellent proven track record in Category Management and planning, developing category strategies. Working in a target driven environment and be able to excel when working under pressure. You must be able to inspire and lead your team; our client is proud of its reputation for improving standards in our industry.

- Manage trading terms and supplier contributions to achieve the central budget and optimise profit
- We are looking for someone that has the ability to define and execute a strategic plan that, based on sound data rationale and desire for excellence, will drive sales and profit through clear operational standards, pricing initiatives, purchasing and logistics opportunities as well as identifying and challenging best practice in the business.
- Have knowledge of Convenience Retail
- Be able to analyse and provide retail trading solutions
- Have experience of franchise agreements and maximising terms both present and future.

CATEGORY MANAGER - RETAIL - 12 MONTH CONTRACT

The Category Manager must have the ability to communicate at all levels in order to achieve credibility with both internal and external partners. They must be able to influence Site Directors and Senior Team Members in order to optimise categories.

This role also requires regular and effective liaison with the Operations, Training and Finance teams within Welcome Break and be required to manage suppliers and partnerships to ensure the optimisation of promotional and point of sale strategy.

The successful Category Manager will:

- Have the capability to source products, manage negotiations, provide on-site and analytical follow up & analysis
- Be able to optimise layouts and develop future strategies
- Create of category specific detail for promotional planners.
- Maintain price books
- Provide quarterly Category reviews to the senior team and HOCMP.

You will be currently working in Food Retail and have very strong people management skills, sales drive, customer service, commerciality and product presentation skills.
