£45,000- £55,000 plus car, plus package

Our client an exciting and growing Food business are seeking a Category Lead to join the team, their vision and business development is ensuring continued growth and the business is now recruiting to strengthen the existing team.

The role requires that operational sites are supplied on time and in full with competitively priced and sourced produce requirements whilst maintaining responsibility for regularly reviewing suppliers and negotiating best value for the business

Key Responsibilities:
Keep abreast with market intelligence to ensure best deals on volume and cost.
Develop relationships with suppliers
Manage the on-going performance of suppliers and product range
Participate in supplier approval processes ensuring compliance with all due diligence prior to acceptance.
Ensure stock levels are balanced and that purchase volumes coordinated with consideration to storage, quality, use and best cost.
Liaise closely with internal departments and external stakeholders
You will have ideally a proven track record within ingredients, fresh, frozen, ambient or chilled areas and the role will require sourcing, building and managing supplier relationships.
Manage key stakeholder relationships

Person specification
Degree Educated and / or an equivalent level vocational qualification.
Experience of purchasing Ingredients, Fresh, Ambient, Frozen or ingredients or Raw Materials
Proven experience of contract and supply negotiation.
Proven experience of working to strict deadlines with the ability to accurately and methodically multitask.
An understanding of the global seasonal effects and the ability to source from alternative suppliers.
Language skills would be an advantage
