Role Purpose:

This role will be responsible for the delivery of elements of the Category Management processes, preparation of and running tender competition processes, Having input into elements of Business Case submissions in respects of procurement methodologies, Supporting the Category Specialist in the delivery of benefits methodologies for the category, Managing Customer and Supplier relationships at sub-category level.

Key Responsibilities:

- Spend Under Management: Meeting and exceeding targets of centrally-managed spend, through leveraged agreements and playing a vital role in helping to protect front line services by driving increased spend and savings through aggregated commercial procurement arrangements.
- Savings: Gathering data to support the development and auditable reporting of Benefits Methodologies for all procurements and cost improvement projects, through support; to deliver savings, monthly reporting and evidence auditable all category savings for all spend.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Provide support to the Category Manager in the performance management and development of supplier plans, though analysis and reporting.
- Category Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain knowledge of the category; market, services, pricing, including analysis of spend.
- Customer Relationship Management: Support the development of customer communication plans, including stakeholder forums for key areas of spend (power, influence and decision making analysis).
- Management Information: On-time delivery of MI through proactive supplier management. Delivery analysis, validation and reporting of spend under management and cashable savings.

To be eligible for this position, the successful Candidate must have experience with:

- Basic knowledge and experience of procurement and category management
- IT category knowledge and expertise
- Data gathering and analysis skills, creating & using complex spreadsheets with pivot tables
- Experience of constructing detailed reports and presenting clear, concise data analysis, with conclusion summaries
- Supplier relationship engagement and contract management skills
- Strong resilience to deal with everything from minor hassles to major setbacks more effectively, maintaining energy, performance and delivery
