1st Executive are currently working with the UKs leading construction companies who as part of their new procurement strategy are looking to recruit a number of Categories Managers to form part of a this new category management team within their construction business.

Currently they are looking to recruit for Category Manager to cover their Civil Engineering Category to be based in theLondonoffice however there will be an element of travel across theUKbusiness.

In what are newly formed positions within the construction business you will be responsible for a number of duties including

* Leads the total supply chain solution for a major spend category (or categories)
* Gathers data, liaises with stakeholders and identifies business needs
* Conducts analysis and develops the category strategy and market profile
* Develops the sourcing plan and order winning criteria
* Conducts negotiations and selects strategic partners
* Implements the category strategy and awards framework agreements
* Drives cost reduction, measures & reviews performance and implements continuous performance improvement through supplier development programmes

This opportunity will play a key role in the ongoing success across a number of high profile Civil Engineering projects and ideally you will currently be working within a Civil Engineering contractor environment.

Person Specification

* In depth specific Category knowledge of the Civil Engineering field However applications are welcomed from candidates with strong all round construction expertise
* Upward track career profile
* MCIPS/Degree Qualified
* FullUKdriving licence
* Dynamic, forward thinking approach to procurement
* Strong Stakeholder Engagement Skills
* Precious experience working in aGreenfieldcategory including developing category strategies.
