My client, a leading and exciting organisation, now require a Category Buyer to join their team at the earliest opportunity. The successful candidate will assist in providing an efficient and effective procurement service to the client as well as further organisations to whom the procurement service is contracted.

We are looking for a bright, driven and committed individual who is able to make a quick impact in the role and pick things up quickly.

Key Duties-

To act as an ambassador for the Procurement and Logistics Department and promote benefits to all customers
To ensure high standards of performance, quality and courtesy are achieved and maintained with customer and suppliers
To develop, negotiate and manage cost effective procurement contracts in support of the clients financial and procurement programmes
To advise users / budget holders on procurement policies and procedures
To undertake purchasing activities and organise medium / high value contracts including both goods and services contracts
To proactively monitor usage trends in support of compliance with commitment to contract terms, enabling achievement of cost savings.

Required Experience-

Experience and sound working knowledge / understanding of procurement, including procurement ordering, tendering, contracting and payment systems
Significant experience in negotiation, benchmarking and/or tendering activities
Excellent negotiation, contact management and supplier development skills
Ability to analyse data, interpret, evaluate and disseminate information to determine best value for money
Ability to investigate and resolve procurement issues proactively and efficiently
Good written and verbal communication skills
Computer literacy inc Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
