Main Purpose of Job

As the UK market leader in powered access, innovation and safety is paramount to our business. Nationwide Platforms requires an enterprising sector focused Business Development Manager to both sustain and develop our existing market share. This is a national role where you will be responsible for the retention, management and growth of our key accounts within the individual Telecoms sector, maximising on every opportunity to impact on our ongoing revenue and profitability.
You will be expected to investigate and identify new key accounts and develop viable new business opportunities through customer consultation developing concepts, differentiating and selling into new markets, major projects and large multi site industries in order to maximise the market share and overall profitability of Nationwide Platforms.

Principle Accountabilities

*To research, identify and prioritise, using predetermined, but not exhaustive criteria and using all the resources available, key accounts that will enable Nationwide Platforms to achieve its corporate objectives and increase revenues, market share and profitability. In addition, manage a pipeline of potential accounts, ensuring that your personal portfolio can achieve year on year revenue growth in line with targets and react to any changes in market condition

*Utilise the unique goods and services of Nationwide Platforms to maximise profitability and market share with new and existing business development accounts. These include, but are not exclusive to:
oMaterial Handling Attachments
oAnti-entrapment (crushing) devices
oSkySentry (tracking and anti-unauthorised use devices)
oSafety attachments
oGeneric and bespoke training and skills provision
oOn-site -managed services

*Understand the strategic direction and work closely with the Business Development Sales Directors with their key contractor or sector targets. Support, manage and implement when required, agreed offerings set at management and or corporate level through these key contractors organisations or sectors.

*Work with all levels of the business to ensure that you achieve maximum revenue, market share and profitability from your key account pipeline and portfolio.

*Support Major Project Managers where required in the management of "major projects" and their supply chain.

*To develop an account overview, including work schedule, timescales and budgeted revenue and profitability forecasts for each key client within your portfolio.

*Maintain a shared record of the client's contacts, current projects and pipelines, any Supply chain contact details and account progress using the Customer Relationship Management system (CRM) and all other required recording and measurement tools provided

*Be responsible for the development and implementation of a sales strategy to meet relevant Business Unit and corporate objectives.

*To identify and analyse potential new sources of business that fall into the categories of new markets including major projects and large multi site industries.

*Have a strategic plan for your portfolio of key accounts, ensuring the business is fully updated on progress with key accounts and consult with the business any additional operational or sales support required to support a key account

Have a strategic plan to develop business opportunities through the supply chain of your key accounts.

*Identify where key accounts need to be removed from account portfolio and manage a professional handover to the relevant part of the sales structure within Nationwide Platforms for ongoing management.

To oversee the high level actions and targets and measure these against results achieved.

*To agree account objectives and ensure that these objectives are met.

*To design fresh commercial initiatives that give Nationwide Platforms a competitive edge and to create the opportunity of new revenue and sector agreements.

*To create strategic partnerships with companies outside of the construction or services sector.

*To project manage all aspects of account set up and monitoring, including customer reports and ongoing reviews
*Ensure that revenue targets are achieved in line with agreed objectives.

*Work closely and communicate with Account teams, Field Sales Teams, Marketing Dept and Sales Support Dept to ensure we consistently achieve maximum potential.

*Provide regular feedback concerning market and industry trends and progress on account development.

*To contribute to budget creation.
