Role Profile
A leading public sector organisation has engaged the services of Cast UK to help recruit a senior position within its communications category. The category covers all aspects of communications and marketing spend including Creative Solution, Media Buying, Audit and Evaluation.
The Category Lead will take responsibility for the implementation, delivery and ongoing management of a centralised procurement approach within the communications category. The successful applicant will have full ownership of the delivery against spend targets and supplier performance, along with line management and coaching of staff.
Key responsibilities include:
* Delivery against specific targets, including spend, efficiency, supplier performance and departmental compliance
* Management of internal department relationships to build, implement and deliver specific projects
* The development and implementation of category strategy
* Development and maintenance of category market intelligence for sustained efficiency delivery and identification of future opportunities
* Maintaining relationships and managing performance of suppliers at operational level and providing support to the Senior Management Team on key supplier relationships
* Ensure relevant government policies are considered and delivered through category strategies
* Management of team performance and development
* Take the lead in developing new initiatives for the category
* Professionally present and liaise at all levels, delivering presentations which promote products and services
Skills and Experience
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
* MCIPS qualification
* Experience of utilising category management techniques
* Experience managing marketing spend
* Proven team management and development skills
* Communication skills
