  • Aim of Post
To provide a full range of professional support to the senior management team of Global Witness, proactively anticipating needs and taking initiative to improve the effective functioning of their internal and external-facing roles.
Key Responsibilities

Provide a full range of professional support and proactively anticipate needs for up to five senior directors. A major element of the day-to-day work can consist of diary management, scheduling and hosting directors' individual and joint meetings, and making international and domestic travel arrangements. You will need to be able to juggle and prioritise demanding and conflicting priorities in order to effectively support all directors and be responsive to urgent tasks.

Provide support to the directors in their Management Team and Board capacities, including preparing and distributing meeting agendas and materials, taking meeting minutes, and ensuring follow-up of action points.

Facilitate the directors' internal and external relationships and communications. This involves assisting with correspondence and emails, screening and dealing with telephone calls for the directors, and liaising with Global Witness staff and external contacts on behalf of the directors, and can require dealing with urgent tasks in the directors' absence.

Effectively manage information and telecommunications on behalf of the directors. This involves maintaining and improving systems for filing and electronic storage of work and contacts, and handling all confidential information about campaigns and the internal management of the organisation with discretion. You will also need a moderate level of IT-literacy and feel comfortable handling complicated telecommunications arrangements for meetings.

Manage other tasks as needed and as delegated by the directors. This includes supporting the Facilities Officer in answering the general phone and office door intercom, coordinating volunteers' work as needed, assisting with small pieces of research, and anything else that is needed to support the directors in effectively carrying out their work.
