The Group:
The Morningstar Investment Management group consists of our investment advice, consulting, retirement-solutions, and index businesses. Through our registered investment advisor subsidiaries, we use our expertise in asset allocation, manager research, and portfolio construction to create innovative investment solutions for institutions, advisors, and their clients.

The Role:
Working on our Investment Advisory team as an Investment Consultant, you will conduct asset-allocation analysis and portfolio construction, analyze funds and data, prepare reports, and interact with clients. You will assess the theoretical and practical implications of consulting methodology as you strive to innovate and improve our products and services. You will be expected to effectively manage both internal (sales force) and external client needs. This position is located in our Chicago office.

Responsibilities
+ Develop and deliver multi-asset investment solutions for financial institution clients.
+ Manage the client engagement including identifying client investment needs, analyzing investment options, proposing an investment solution, solving operational issues and monitoring and updating the investment portfolios.
+ Provide client performance reports and other presentations as needed.
+ Work with sales personnel on client renewals and new client opportunities.
+ Work with client service personnel to deliver value-added support to clients.
+ Understand the client`s business model and be able to recommend appropriate solutions.
+ Research and develop new products and services. Prepare draft reports detailing methodology and conclusions.

Requirements
+ Four to seven years of investment-related experience, preferably in the financial services industry.
+ Experience in the broker-dealer or asset management industry is a plus.
+ Undergraduate degree in finance or economics; an advanced degree and/or CFA is preferred.
+ Applicants should be comfortable working in a quantitative environment.
+ Experience with Morningstar software packages is a plus.
