My client is a global, fast paced, forward thinking multi-channel business.
As Infrastructure Architect your role will encompass both project centric & enterprise domains and requires a blend of technical and solutions architecture capabilities.
This position is a vital role in maintaining the integrity of systems and the consistency of applied architectures.
Essential skills/attributes:
* Significant professional experience architecting large scale systems with responsibility for storage, compute, network and security.
* Proven expertise in required operating systems: VMware and Linux
* Experience of documenting system architecture components using MS Visio or similar tools.
* REDHAT - essential
* Web services experience
* Understanding of database technologies and applications, such as Informix, Oracle, PostgreSQL & MySQL are highly desirable
* Strong working knowledge of orchestration tools, file systems, and storage technologies (NAS, SAN) is required.
* Knowledge of Application Delivery Controllers, (f5, Riverbed Stingray) is desirable.
* Experience working on 3-4 smaller projects at the same time
* Experience of integrating systems to LDAP (MS AD, Novell LDAP) is desirable.
* Strong technical and project management skills and must be able to work cross-functionally with other development teams and partner organisations in the UK and abroad
* Excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.
* Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Proven presentation skills spanning formal and informal settings and small to large audiences.
