To join on a contract basis to project manage a clients network upgrade project and to ensure that the client's requirements are met, the project is completed on time and within budget and that internal and external resources are delivering on their commitments.

Prior to applying for this role, please beaware that this is a 6 months contract role to start asap and is paying in the region of £300 to £320 per day, based in Fareham.

The Systems Analyst MPLS Projects (contract) role within the computer services communication team is responsible for the implementation of a comprehensive MPLS network migration. Interaction with internal customers and external 3rd parties is required. The role is part technical and part project management; it covers the day to day project management, implementation and post go-live support for a 107 connection MPLS network upgrade. In addition this role will provide BAU support to a broader network team.

The role is expected to work under the direct guidance of a programme manager (BSM Communications).

The role requires out of business hours working supporting go-live implementations as required by the business.

This position potentially requires some travel within the EMEA region.

Major Responsibilities:
* Day to day project management of MPLS network migration, working in tandem with project managers from our chosen MPLS vendors.
* Staging of CPE router hardware, 3900, 2900 and 1900 series routers
* Communication with internal customers
* Implementation of MPLS network migrations
* Post go-live support
* Network Design,
* Production of documentation, ensure records and inventory are accurate
* Ensure network monitoring platforms are updated as project progresses

Technical Skills:

* Strong Cisco skills covering WAN, LAN, WAAS network optimisation and WLAN technologies
* Must have an in depth knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, EIGRP
* Must have an in depth knowledge of IPSEC based VPNs
* Must have an in depth knowledge of Ethernet
* Experience of a managed and wires only WAN environment
* Able to resolve complicated equipment related network problems
* Can work toward the resolution of a production problem with the necessary priority
* Able to perform tactical network design based on standards and guidance of senior team members
* Able to perform effective network testing
* Must have an in depth knowledge of network diagnostic tools and equipment
* Good understanding of voice technologies, especially Avaya VOIP implementations

Management Skills:

* Solid writing skills, i.e. can document meetings, project status and develop proposals
* Can run a medium size project requiring a work plan and delegation skills
* Able to lead other analysts in well-defined, short-duration tasks
