PSFR Screening Officer- vacancy

Role description:
Reporting to the Head of Section, Leadership Giving, the Screening Officer (Due Diligence) will act as the focal point for conducting screenings for the UNHCR’s Private Sector Fundraising network on due diligence and approval processes related to the delivery of partnerships with corporations, foundations/trusts and HNWI. 
Responsibilities (process and functions undertaken to achieve results):

Due Diligence

Undertake the initial and detailed screening of current and prospective partners and donors (corporations, foundations and HNWI), including:

•    Managing incoming enquiries from the PSFR network regarding screening and due diligence on prospective partners;
•    Liaising with UNHCR’s external due diligence data provider to access database reports (and to commission custom-made reports if needed);
•    Conducting additional ethical research of prospective partners based on publicly available information, to verify compliance with UNHCR’s screening criteria and identify potential risks, with a focus on reputational risks;
•    Liaising with relevant internal stakeholders, including Bureaus and technical units, for additional inputs to PSFR’s screening process;
•    Liaising with relevant external stakeholders, including the UN Global Compact, other UN agencies and NGOs, as well as watchdog groups, for additional inputs to PSFR’s screening process;
•    Drafting and consolidating screening results for review by the Head of Section, Head of Service and/or the Partnership Governing Board, as per the due diligence policy;

Information Management
•    Maintain detailed records of due diligence activities, including maintaining and periodically reviewing a central registry/database of all screened prospects and partners, as well as prospects being considered or approached, ensuring that the screening information is made accessible and available to the PSFR network as appropriate;
•    Keep abreast of relevant business, economics, legislative, regulatory and corporate social responsibility (CSR) developments and trends in key PSFR markets, advising the Head of Section on critical issues.

Authority (decisions made in executing responsibilities and to achieve results)

•    Coordination with external suppliers, UN entities and internal/external stakeholders on all due diligence issues;
•    Further policy development.

Qualifications and Experience:

•    Advanced university degree in any of the following:  Social Sciences, Economics, Public Administration, International Relations, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related discipline;
•    8 years’ (6 years for MA degree holders) previous relevant work experience in a not-for-profit organization and/or in a global private sector company. Experience must be at the international level, including the management of complex multi-stakeholder partnerships and at least five years’ experience in policy and strategy development, design and implementation. Corporate Social Responsibility experience is an asset;
