The Consumer Healthcare part of this company is among the largest over-the-counter (OTC) health care companies in the world with a global footprint in more than 100 countries.
They develop, manufacture and market leading non-prescription medicines, vitamins, and cosmetics, including some well- known household brands.

As a key member of the analgesics team, you will be accountable for providing insight to the sales and marketing teams, and to trade customers, to help shape the strategic direction of the products and tactical needs of the category.
You will analyse the impact of current and future business activities and provide actionable recommendations both internally and to the trade.

Your main responsibilities:
*CONSUMER, SHOPPER & CUSTOMER UNDERSTANDING: The acquisition and development of a deep understanding of shoppers/retailers, their behaviour and attitudes towards the brand, the category and wider world.
*BRAND/TRADE STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT: To combine an understanding of the shopper and the competitive dynamics of the market/retail environment, to help shape the strategic direction and tactical needs of the brand by feeding relevant insight, analysis and recommendations into the brand, trade marketing and account plans.
*CATEGORY MANAGEMENT OPERATIONS: Strategic and tactical input into all the aspects of category management. Consolidate all category management plans so that it is clear what activity is taking place by brand, summarising what is planned. Monitor the implementation of the activity against agreed plans. Plan and co-ordinate the roll-out of account specific activity. Monitor and evaluate new retailer concepts and drive the implementation of resulting opportunities
*CUSTOMER MANAGEMENT INTEGRATION: In conjunction with marketing and sales, integrate retailer and consumer needs in order to define and support the brand strategy and build the customer value of the brands. Work with Business Account Managers to identify opportunities to improve brand performance by account. Provide category management support in the areas of range and space analysis and planogram production.
*LEVERAGING BEST CATEGORY MANAGEMENT PRACTICE:
*BRAND EQUITY MANAGEMENT: The development of new ideas that add value for the shopper/retailer to ensure the long-term profitability of the brand.
*LEADERSHIP OF BRAND INNOVATION/RENOVATION: The identification of gaps in shopper/retailer needs, translating into brand ideas

Your experience:
*Experience in category management, sales, retail or trade marketing
*UK OTC experience (preferable)
*Academic qualification to degree standard or equivalent experience
