My client, based in Barnsley, has an excellent opportunity for a Stores Team Leader.
In a period of growth, and the completion of the transition to lean manufacturing, together with promoting a culture of continuous improvement and organisational learning, this is an exciting role which will present challenges and the opportunity to make a difference.

The principal responsibilities include:
-To lead the Stores teams in a professional, open, firm yet positive manner displaying consistency, honesty and integrity at all times
-To identify training needs, train and develop the Stores team, to create a multi skilled, flexibility and highly motivated team
-To lead Stores SIM (Short Interval Management Meeting) and ensure that all hour by hour sheets are completed as required.
-Perform roistered duties as and when required.
-To support Production and their SIM process, to resolve any stock or material issues that arise during the shift or to escalate these issues promptly to ensure continuity of supply and operations
-To ensure that the Stores team members perform their duties when required and to the standard required.
-To ensure that discipline is applied in a fair and consistent manner.
-Utilise the methods and procedures to achieve the objectives of a safe work environment.
-To hold regular briefing sessions with all team members to ensure that all are involved and updated on key department issues, business performance, and training and development opportunities.
-Ensure that Kanban stations and line-side parts storage locations are fully stocked at all times and are replenish at allocated times
-To report any changes required to stock locations or levels due to changing business needs.
-Undertake weekly and monthly stock checks.
-Maintaining 5S standards in all stores controlled and managed areas of the factory
-Ensure deliveries, both stock and non-stock items, are unloaded in a timely manner and handled appropriately as per the procedures
-To perform daily inspections on all Fork Lift Trucks, ensuring that they are mechanically fit for purpose and safe for use.
-To perform Fork Lift Truck Refresher Training for employees as and when required.

Qualifications/Experience:
-You must have the drive to actively seek involvement in the development of new products through the creation of new ideas and lean manufacturing projects.
-You will be expected to demonstrate your potential on a daily basis, showing innovative and enthusiastic leadership skills with strong analytical and problem solving abilities.
-You must be a self-motivated individual, with a proactive and investigative approach to tasks who is capable of working on their own initiative whilst also adopting a commitment to teamwork.
-Your personal communication and influencing skills are also of major importance to be able to lead a sometimes reluctant workforce to a desired outcome, through influence and the use of factual data

The right individual will have a proven track record in all of the above. In return, you will be set up to succeed with a structured development plan including a mentoring programme, training in lean manufacturing tools and techniques as well as on-the-job training. 37.5 hours per week - 6:00 am 1:30 pm and 2:00 pm 9:30 pm (rotated weekly M-F).
