This is a new position within a developing team which has arisen due to recent growth of the brand and impressive growth predictions for the next 18 months. The Category manager will report into the Channel Manager and will be responsible for defining and delivering the brand product proposition to market.

The key accountabilities for the role include;

Define the range offering to achieve sales and margin growth
Define and deliver the best range proposition as well as own brand strategy
Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
Work closely with the commercial team to maximise profitability through leaveraging spends and ensuring that offers are competitive
Assist with the communication of the range to the business
Analyse the sale and margin performance of each branch / region to help deliver greater sales and margin
Track current and future market trends
Communicate the defined product range across Supply Chain, Property and Marketing

Person specification;

Experience within a similar line in a retail/wholesale/merchanting environment
Graduate level or equivalent
Demonstrable influencing experience
Strong negotiation skills
Financial and business awareness
Customer proposition development
Category management experience
