Consultant Anaesthetist

This post is for 10 programmed activities. The post holder will be expected to participate in a 1-14 on-call rota. A draft breakdown of the job plan is attached to the job advert.

A strong commitment from the appointee to the Department and involvement with activities within the Department such as audit, appraisal and assessment, clinical governance and development of guidelines is expected. The successful applicant will be expected to work as part of a team of consultants and will be required to contribute to the ongoing development of the Department of Anesthesia at Airedale Hospital.

Applicants must be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of being admitted to the Register for trainees if currently in a training programme within the UK. If you are a trainee, currently on a UK training programme, and are not yet on the specialist register, please provide details of your expected CCT date on your application form. In accordance with the regulations, all other categories of doctors must be on the Specialist Register at the time of their application to be eligible for consideration for a Consultant appointment by the Advisory Appointments Committee.

The post offers the opportunity to work in an area of outstanding natural beauty within the heart of England in the rolling countryside between Skipton and Keighley, close to the Yorkshire Dales National Park. There are good rail and road links to major cities.

This role may be suitable for non-UK or non-EEA job applicants wishing to apply for Home Office Tier 2 sponsorship.
