Our client is a large, multi-site manufacturer of chilled food, supplying into major UK retailers. At their fresh meat site based in the North West they currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Analyst
The main purpose of the role is to deliver optimisation of end to end supply chain efficiency, delivery of industry leading performance, and technical expertise for a range of category products.
Key responsibilities include:
*To collaboratively plan with the commercial teams taking into account promotional / advertising activity & new product introductions, to challenge sales forecasts & to agree proposals for stock availability and replenishment.
*To work closely with the Demand Planners and Customer Services team & ensure that forecasts - short, medium and long term - are as accurate as possible at all times.
*To create and maintain a "Promotional Database" for use by other members of the Supply Chain, Sales, Marketing and Business Analysis teams to assist in the forecasting of promotions
*To minimise waste levels by proactively highlighting problem products - slow movers, erratic demands etc - and seek solutions (e.g. promotional offering, price reductions, alternative products, changing order cycles).
The successful candidate will be degree qualified with a mathematical brain and excellent PC skills and communication skills. They will also have good judgement with business acumen and knowledge of the retail market. A supply chain/business qualification would also be useful though previous experience as a supply chain analyst is not essential.
