Role Profile
Supporting the Category Manager in the development and execution of category strategy my client, a major energy provider, a recruiting a Category Specialist to join their expanding procurement team. Selecting and negotiating contractual terms with suppliers, the successful candidate will take a lead in monitoring supplier KPI's and performance with key business partners, taking overall management responsibility of supplier performance.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing business with an annual portfolio spend of c£50m. Based in either Central London or Bury St Edmunds the Category Specialist will be required to travel on occasion between sites and to supplier premises.
With management responsibility of categories including engineering, construction, project purchasing and indirect spend, the successful candidate will have experience in managing suppliers in one or more of these categories.
Skills and Experience
* Procurement experience
* Experience managing NEC3 contracts
* Degree educated
* Experience interpreting contracts and supplier agreements
* Flexible to travel between Central London & Bury St Edmunds
* Project Management Skills
* Experience managing engineering / construction / manufacturing sectors
