HEAD OF BUYING - Ladies Fashion

This is an opportunity to work for a Manchester based ladies wear e-tailor and is one of the fastest growing companies in the UK selling online ladies fashion. My client is looking for an experienced candidate to work with the current team to help develop and expand the business further, bringing with them new ideas and experiences. The successful candidate will need to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

This role requires the successful candidate to have extensive experience within previous buying roles, where you are looking for your first "Head of" appointment or are already in a similar position.

Previous Fashion experience is desired.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

Supporting the development of range across all categories, including balancing a number of options and price plans which are in line with the company's growth strategy and fulfil the needs of the target market.

* Work on increasing the gross margin across all categories through better negotiation, supplier management and pricing structure.
* Working with the buying team to identify and address the weaknesses, threats and opportunities in the market place.
* Ensuring the seasonal collections are prepared and delivered within a clearly defined critical path and assist in the communication of this across the wider business.
* Identifying and addressing the training needs of the buying team.
* Setting and ensuring the achievement of the bottom line sales and margin targets.
* Assess and develop new market opportunities for product offer.
* Helps maintain and develop the structure of the buying team - develop the skills of the team and addresses individual training needs.
* Oversees range development.
* Issuing guidelines / packaging with teams prior to Director sign off - ensuring they are implemented in a timely manner.

* Ability to organise and plan.
* Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to ensure effective communication both internally and externally.
* Demonstration of the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* A flexible, pro-active approach to work including the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise to achieve successful outcomes.
* Excellent attention to detail.
* Excellent IT skills including working knowledge of work processing, spreadsheets, preferably Microsoft Word and Excel.

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum
