SENIOR CATEGORY MANAGER
University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust (UHL) is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country, aspiring to be a leading international centre of excellence for clinical practice and teaching.
This key role is part of the Procurement Team, providing a high quality service to the Trust.
As Senior Category Manager, you will lead, develop and manage a category strategy which includes a portfolio of procurement projects and contracts to drive Trust wide savings initiatives, improve the management of inventory and support the maximisation of working capital.
You will lead on cost improvement initiatives, whilst ensuring compliance with European OJEU legislation. You will be able to demonstrate considerable experience of leading complex procurement projects and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will have demonstrable commercial expertise in negotiating complex contracts, managing supplier performance, and the communication skills to engage with managerial and clinical clients.
You will be a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing & Supply, with post qualification experience in all aspects of procurement category management and supply chain management in a large fast moving organisation.
The ability to lead a number of change agendas promoting a strong commercial approach is an essential pre-requisite for this post. The category with a vacancy is in the field of Cardiac and Renal.
