Our client is a long-established US-owned global business. A growing market share combined with ambitious and fast -paced strategic development initiatives has made the company a recognisable market leader.
Based at their UK Manufacturing site the Category Manager will take responsibility for providing commercial support for the procurement of capital equipment and services related to capital spend across all manufacturing and distribution operations together with managing all major projects for UK Manufacturing.
Working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors you will ensure best value is gained on capital spend, lead the procurement process including negotiations and reviewing contracts and ensure that appropriate contracts are in place and are monitored.
With your commercial acumen you will be able to ensure that all contract performance is being met and any changes correctly managed, negotiated and recorded.
Key to your success will be the ability to establish excellent working relationships with critical suppliers, to monitor supplier performance and to address any service issues.
A high profile role as you will be handling concurrent high value contracts.
You will be liaising with the company's senior global management team so your interpersonal skills will be of the highest level demonstrating listening, negotiating, understanding and written/verbal communication abilities.
With an Engineering or Science-related degree your procurement experience will have been gained working within a Regulated Manufacturing Industry Sector wherein you have worked closely with engineering teams and have managed the procurement of production equipment and civil engineering services.
You will be expected to undertake international travel .
