Responsibilities

An opportunity to join the Wastewater Science team as a Service Delivery Scientist based across north Essex, the position can be based in either Colchester or Chelmsford.

Reporting to the Service Delivery Science Manager you will be responsible for delivering wastewater process science support and advising wastewater services on how to maintain compliance and ensure treatment efficiency. This will involve providing both reactive and proactive performance improvements, implementing strategies to exploit the full potential of our infrastructure as well as reduce OPEX where possible.

You will also be involved in data evaluation and compliance reporting, developing and implementing sampling programmes, as well as spending time coaching and developing wastewater operations teams in their knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.

Requirements

Educated to degree level in a relevant scientific subject, you will have relevant wastewater experience and have demonstrable expertise in wastewater collection and treatment. Ideally you will possess or be working towards a relevant postgraduate qualification such as CIWEM and be a current member of a professional body.

Excellent communication skills, an ability to evaluate data at a high level and good time management skills will also be required in this varied and challenging role.
