Job Description
Based at Hayshead Primary School, Arbroath covering various schools in the Arbroath and Montrose area, you will teach pupils general musicianship, using the principles developed by Kodaly/Dalcroze/Orff, to play a musical instrument, and to develop their musical literacy, aural awareness and interest in music making.
You will work 22.29 hours per week, all day Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and every second Thursday afternoon.
This job is temporary until no later than 27 June 2014 in the first instance.
Requirements
You will be an energetic and enthusiastic Kodaly teacher joining a successful and dynamic team of music thinkers. Through PRD, CPD and in-service supported and run by the music support officer, you will be able to further enhance and develop your craft of teaching. You will teach Kodaly musicianship and strengthen children’s musical identity and contribute to peer discussions on pedagogy and policy.
A full, current driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential.
You must have the ability to become a member of the PVG scheme.
