12 month Fixed term contract for a Category Manager experienced in procuring contracts for Facilities, Property Management, Occupational Health and Waste Management within a large organisation.

Working with a budget of approximately £40 million, the role of the Category Manager is to negotiate carefully with suppliers to ensure optimum return on supplier contracts.
Keen negotiation skills will be key, and this is a hands-on role for a proactive individual who is involved in the full process from selecting suppliers, agreeing on contracts and overseeing supplier performance.
Furthermore, the role involves making sure that up-to-date category plans are in place for all areas, and successful candidates will be able to utilise sophisticated market research to expand category product and service expertise.

Specifically the role involves;

* Category Management around; Facilities, Property Management, Occupational Health and Waste Management
* Contribute towards the cost saving target of the UK Procurement department to increase company profitability.
* Undertake specific procurement activity as determined by the category sourcing strategy, consistent with the customers project programme.
* Follow the procurement process in all category management activities.
* Perform required activities using the SAP procurement system in a timely manner to maximise efficiency and effectiveness.

Candidates should have;

* Strong stakeholder management experience with a customer service 'ethos'
* Previous experience in procurement, supply chain or relevant business management role
* The ability to influence and negotiate with key stakeholders both internally and externally
* A working legal knowledge of supply contracts
* The ability to negotiate and agree terms and conditions for low complexity supply contracts
