Alzheimer’s Society is the leading support and research charity for people affected by dementia, their families and carers. So join our team as Head of Business Development and you will have a significant impact on our future development and growth.

This role calls for a highly entrepreneurial, responsive and flexible professional. Your challenge? To oversee and shape the continual development of our services portfolio. This will involve more than assessing, costing and testing products and services. You will work closely with Operational Directors and others to create robust business plans, identify new opportunities and ensure the quality and strategic fit of every business development proposal. It’s all about creating a business development framework that harnesses our many strengths and brings together the skills of operations, policy, research, business development and fundraising.

We will also rely on you stay abreast of evolving funding and policy trends within the sector – and to work in partnership with statutory and non-statutory providers in pursuit of common objectives. In addition, you will contribute to all aspects of fundraising and the roll-out of regional appeals.

You will clearly need experience of leading the development of innovation and new services in a related field.  Excellent business modelling skills are essential, and your ability to create financial plans and develop evidence-based KPIs must be supported a successful record of generating effective business development policies and strategies. In addition, you will need experience of securing contract income through tendering processes in the health and social care sectors as well as first-class negotiating, marketing and influencing skills. Add to that your consummate leadership ability and the credibility to influence decisions that will shape the future of our national organisation, and you will quickly make your mark as part of our senior team.
