Role description
Interim ICT Category Buyer, North West

To provide Procurement support to the Operating Groups comprising: Commercial negotiations, pro-active sourcing relating to Hardware and Services sub categories of spend within the ICT portfolio and associated supplier relationship management.

* Reviewing Purchasing requests ,over £50k in value or as and when directed, and negotiating with suppliers to ensure that the most favourable commercial terms are secured for Mouchel.
* Manage master data management activities for sub category of spend including: vendor requests/amends, pricing changes to catalogues, vendor database housekeeping
* Production of spend reviews and detailed analysis to be developed into sub category areas.
* Plan and deliver procurement tenders and contracts for use across the Mouchel business.
* Develop effective relationships with key stakeholders to ensure full support for sub category strategies and subsequent procurement activities.
* Develop strong commercial relationships with supply base and effective contract management strategies to continue to improve services and reduce cost of service provision for sub categories of spend.
* Contribute to procurement strategy, policy, processes and systems to provide a world class platform for "bought in" goods and services.
* Work with Budget holders to ensure that designated "Strategic suppliers" perform to contract and develop & implement an appropriate cost and service improvement agenda.

Who we're looking for
*Interim ICT Category Buyer
* CIPS or working towards CIPS
* Business related qualifications (diploma or degree level attainment)
Category Strategy Development
* Understands the essential ingredients of supply strategy build and related relationship with overall corporate strategy
Supply Base Analysis
* Understands the theory and tools associated with analysing supply markets and assessing alignment with Mouchel business needs
Negotiation
* Understands theory of negotiation planning & range of influencing styles
* Recognises the issues and options, makes an assessment of the arguments, and uses to provide information and advice for the negotiating team
Contracting Strategy and Legal aspects
* Understands simple arms-length relationship types and utilises standard contractual templates and documentation for routine, low risk contracts.
eProcurement
* Demonstrates an awareness of the systems available to procurement. Will use as and when necessary
Supply Chain analysis
* Understand all the elements of the e2e supply chain and major constraints with basic knowledge of value chain mapping. Uses this knowledge in decision making when considering any supply chain issues
Supplier performance Management
* Understands principles of supply & customer segmentation in developing appropriate supplier management strategy
