  ARK SCHOOLS

ARK Schools is a fast growing and successful education charity seeking to establish an outstanding network of inner city academies in London, Birmingham and Portsmouth. With 18 academies open and an aim to have 50 schools open by 2015, this is a unique opportunity to join a thriving organisation.

We are now seeking two Clerks to Local Governor to work with various academies in London from September 2013: the first will be clerking for approximately four schools in North-West London, and the second clerking for three schools in South-West and West London. The latter role will involve clerking early morning (8am) meeting as well as meetings in the afternoon and evening.

The Clerks will ensure ARK academies in London benefit from centralised and co-ordinated clerking support, and work with the Governance Manager (based in London) in meeting the overall governance needs of this area.

The post holders will be expected to attend all governance and committee meetings to take minutes, as well as to support the Governance Manager with administration and other tasks in order to ensure that the ARK Schools Governance team provides an exemplary service to its London schools.

Our ideal candidate will:

Be experienced in taking minutes, preferably in a school governance or corporate environment
Be able to write clearly, accurately and concisely
Be highly organised and have a flexible approach to work, with the ability to work remotely
Act as a two-way conduit between the ARK Schools central team and individual school governing bodies.
Share ARK Schools’ commitment to improving educational opportunities for underprivileged children.
