IT Manager Required, Retail, London, £65K + Bonus

My client is a large retail organisation that is known throughout the world. They have made a significant investment in core areas of their IT infrastructure and as such need a head of IT service delivery to manage their end user computing function. You will be reporting directly into the IT director and manage a team of 20. The entire IT department is 150 strong and have healthy budgets for research and development.

Your team will be responsible for the operations of user based computing environments. Such environments include; Windows 7, MAC OS X, VMware View, Windows Terminal Services, Appsense, Printing, Applications, etc.

You will be responsible for the service delivery of End User Computing systems, as well the resource management of the team responsible for End User Computing. You will support End User Computing users for the prompt resolution of incidents/problems and service requests. You will also be a key contributor in shaping the overall strategy for the companies End User Computing environment and architecture.

In addition to the above, the position is also responsible for supplier management, ensuring that the vendors deliver quality solutions, on time and to budget.

Required:
Extensive knowledge of, and/or a proven record of success managing, the delivery of the following specific types of end-user experience improvement-related projects:

* End user services and/or desktop transformation and consolidation;
* Development of roadmaps and implementation plans to migrate a client's key end-user platforms, such as client OS solutions, e.g. migrating from Windows XP to Windows 7, productivity solutions, e.g. MS Office upgrades, and email solutions);
* Migration and virtualization of an end user computing environment.

Extensive knowledge of, and/or a proven record of success in a role as an internal subject matter expert on, all matters (i.e. installation, configuration, administration) related to End User Computing technologies, including:

* Desktop, virtual desktop, terminal servers, thin client, and end user mobile computing (technologies, architecture and solutions);
* Broad infrastructure technology concepts around software, hardware, networking, printing, data management and security, applications, end user interfaces, remote access, high-availability, disaster recovery and business continuity;
* Windows 7, MAC OS X, Windows Terminal Server, MS Office, Windows 2008/2012, VMware View 5
* Active Directory, scripting (VBS/Powershell/Quest tools) for deployment of Apps, Desktop/App Management (SCCM/SMS/AppSense)
* Cloud computing services, including ServiceNow, Office365 and collaboration technologies.
* Articulation of the design and implementation of desktop of the future;
