THE ROLE AND YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful Head of Category will be responsible for defining the category portfolio, range, pricing & quality and ensuring that the category is always centred around the customer to maximise the commercial opportunity and ultimately the success of the category.

Key responsibilities will include:
-Developing and implementing a long term category strategy
-Keeping abreast of all market trends and customer requirements to maximise the commercial opportunity through range, pricing, merchandising and messaging
-Determine and work within financial budgets and objectives
-Ensure on-going competitive positioning of the category
-Manage category strategy with internal stakeholders, suppliers and external stakeholders

This is a new position working for a recognisable high street brand that has arisen through an internal restructure coupled with growth of the department.

EXPERIENCE SOUGHT IN THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE:
-Must have previous relevant category management experience within a retail business
-Budget management responsibility within a retail environment
-Highly numerate and analytical
-Extensive use of forecasting tools and ERP software
