BMERM is a 4-year structured PhD programme that combines a PhD research project with a unique didactic and experiential learning programme, resulting in an unparalleled learning experience for the student. BMERM is designed to produce graduates who will be the next generation of leaders in industry and in academic research and education in the fields of biomedical engineering and regenerative medicine.

Applications are now invited for a new funded PhD Fellowship for the BMERM Programme, with a stipend of €16,000 p.a. plus fees (EU Rate), to commence in autumn 2013 at NUI Galway.

PhD Project: A novel hybrid imaging and therapeutic system for the treatment of breast cancer.

This project will be supported by an exceptionally experienced academic supervisory team and research teams working in the areas of computational mechanics, biomechanics, mechanobiology, bioelectronics and microwave imaging.

Applicants should have a primary degree in a relevant area of engineering (e.g. biomedical, mechanical, electrical or electronic), or physical or mathematical science, at a minimum level of a H2.1 bachelors degree or equivalent.
