A Senior Buyer is needed to join a WORLD RENOWNED defence team in Edinburgh.

About the role:
The company is a global leader in defence electronics and delivers mission critical systems for situational awareness, electronic warfare and surveillance across land, sea and air. The Radar and Advanced Targeting line of business, based in Edinburgh, is uniquely positioned as one of the world's top manufacturers of radars, lasers and infra-red countermeasure systems.
The Procurement function currently has a vacancy for a Senior Buyer within one of the centralised category teams.

Senior Buyer Responsibilities:
* Support several key projects across the business.
* Reporting to the respective Category Manager.
* The role requires an attention to detail
* The ability to operate effectively with other functions including a diverse group of engineering disciplines.
* The ability to deliver high quality output within often challenging timescales.
* Providing a procurement service to all related projects under the governance of Central Procurement Management.
* Managing RFQ's, requisitions and PO demand for all mechanical and machined parts.
* Expediting technical data
* Resolving supply base queries and problems.
* Managing the live order book on SAP and expediting delivery of material to budget and system requirements.
* Continually monitors and reviews progress of procurement work.
* Prepares monthly procurement status report such as PIMMS.
* Undertake the placement of all procurement commitments by Letter of Intent, ITP, Purchase Orders, Subcontract Documentation or any other form that is indicated.
* Ensure reduction in the requisition to PO time is kept to a minimum.
* Ensure that all commercial correspondence and all other relevant documentation are retained in accordance with laid down processes.
* Works with and manages all the suppliers to ensure schedules of work are compatible with the Project.
* Undertake and making sure that all negotiations with the Suppliers are professionally conducted.
* Take the lead and manage the Supplier gateways, from selection through a series of performance-based reviews such as Design Reviews, Production Readiness and FAI where required.
* CIPS or SeiB Trained (or willingness to study for this discipline)
