The IT Service Continuity Planner supports the IT Continuity Strategy, is a resource for IT service continuity with emphasis on continuity and disaster recovery (DR). The planner drives IT SC’s Continuity planning commitment which focuses on risk and impact analysis which in turn support drives IT Disaster Recovery. Planner reports to Global Service Continuity Lead.
The IT Services Continuity Planner has the following essential job functions:
* Participates in project efforts specific to Business Impact Analysis and DR strategy development and management on behalf of the IT Service Continuity (ITSC) team to help assure or improve service resiliency, security, and or recovery.
* Participates in the testing, and evaluating the effectiveness of DR readiness within IT Services.
* Liaison with EY individuals and organizations responsible for crisis management (CM) and business continuity (BC) to ensure IT Services’ CM strategy supports IT Services’ mission to support EY’s business endeavors.
* Liaison with EY individuals and organizations responsible for business continuity (BC) and crisis management (CM) to ensure IT Services’ DR strategy supports IT Services’ mission to support EY’s business endeavors.
* Provide support to the Information Security teams in their efforts when needed. This includes but is not limited to efforts such as: a) support for client inquiries – e.g. regarding DR strategy; b) support for security incident response efforts when necessary; c) contribute to the development of information security policies, particularly those specific to DR, CM, and BC.
* Represent ITSC, Information Security, Strategy & Architecture, and or IT Services in intra and inter team meetings and projects within IT Services and with EY organizations beyond IT Services as needed.
This role is vigil for closing the gaps in the current DR strategy particularly where Business Impact Analysis are required, this is also needed in order to maintain our compliance with the code of connection. As EY’s business needs grow globally additional planners are required to ensure the BIA is performed which is the foundation for establishing recovery priorities, mitigation of existing exposures, recovery strategy selection and plan development. This requires key observation, and documentation to determine the effectiveness of the current DR plans and to identifying and recommending measures to resolve any gaps or improve upon existing recovery plans to better support the IT Services organization and the overall business continuity needs of the firm.
This role requires the planner to:
* Be knowledgeable about disaster recovery and business continuity subject matter including standards (e.g. ISO, ITIL) pertaining to these topics.
* Maintain integrity in a professional environment.
* Possess excellent teaming skills.
* Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Posses excellent project management skills.
* Have the ability to work independently when necessary and be responsible for multiple simultaneous tasks of varying priority.

MBCI/FBCI Member / Fellow Business Continuity Institute
