As an Engineering Team Lead – Networks in the Infrastructure Service Delivery Engineering group, you will be taking on a multi-dimensional role within the team. You will manage and be accountable for the performance of Infrastructure Engineering resources assigned to your team who are responsible for the design, engineering and implementation of network services across the global Ernst & Young environment. These services comprises of various WAN, LAN and WLAN products, technologies and vendors across Data Center and Branch Office environments. You will be accountable for one of the technology domains (WAN / LAN) while ensuring individuals have clearly identified responsibility for specific areas. Additionally, you will be required to leverage your technical background to act as the subject matter expert in relevant technology area to assist in creation of standards, act as project technical lead as well as act as the point of entry into the Infrastructure Engineering organization providing consulting services to other teams as we collaborate on IT projects, programs and other initiatives.

Essential Functions of the Job:
•Manage Infrastructure Engineering staff resources assigned to the team providing them day-to-day counseling, setting goals and providing midyear and annual feedback through standard HR processes.
•Provide expert technical knowledge in specialty areas with advanced knowledge of complementing infrastructures. Specialty areas for Networks: Large-scale Data Center & Branch Office Routing, Switching & Wireless LAN technologies;
Data Center Application Networking & Delivery technologies (Server and Global Load Balancers); WAN, Internet connectivity & related technologies (MPLS, IPSEC VPN, WAN Optimizers, Rate Limiters, QoS, etc.); Infrastructure Services (DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, etc.), Network Monitoring & Management Platforms.
•Define global technology standards, road maps and reference architectures with Enterprise Architecture and Operations.
•Maintain adherence to architectural standards/principles, global product-specific guidelines, usability design standards, etc.
•Lead research studies and vendor roadmaps of new emerging technologies.
•Make recommendations to management team on strategic direction of technology.
•Participate in RFI/RFP evaluation process for vendor/technology selection.
•Participate in projects and programs as workload permits for the development and delivery of technical solutions.
•Provide appropriate cost and resource estimates for all applicable phases of planned projects.
•Work with Group Leads and Resource Planning Team to staff approved projects with staff resources from the team.
•Ensure full and correct time capture and utilization of team resources on a weekly basis for all project and administration work to allow effective top level reporting.
•Develop lasting, mutually beneficial relationships with key EY and client stakeholders across organisational levels, and a range of external contacts.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:

Managerial Skills:
•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills required to lead and motivate technical team that delivers quality services.

•Experience with resource management, infrastructure implementation/management, service/operations management, etc.
•Create and deliver presentations that engage audience participants and respond to their questions and concerns.
•Produce writing that contains clear, precise descriptive language.
•Present complex and difficult messages skillfully, using a variety of media and methods.
•Facilitation skills to lead teams and successful meetings.
•Strong knowledge and experience in IT methodologies used to guide the work of technical teams assigned to programs/projects.
•Ability to build, maintain and use a widely spread network based on good relationship to colleagues and vendors.

Technical Skills:
•Strong technical skills designing, developing, implementing Infrastructures utilizing Hosting Services, Telecommunications, and Application Management technologies / platforms.
•Maintain awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential Infrastructure on service offerings and products provided by IT.
•Advanced skills in planning, designing and troubleshooting of complex network environments.
•Experience in designing and implementing enterprise network solutions in data center and branch office environments including routing, switching and wireless LAN technologies; server and global load balancing solutions; DNS, DHCP and Active Directory environments; WAN optimization, Rate Limiting and QoS technologies.
•Exposure to various facets of data center and branch office build-out including planning, designing and implementation of facilities and structured cabling solutions.
•First-hand knowledge in designing network solutions to enable integration of VMWare, blade, cloud and converged network environments.
•Working knowledge of wireless LAN radio and security concepts, including site surveys and wireless Guest Access solutions.
•Experience in evaluating, designing and implementing multi-vendor global WAN networks for integrated (voice, video, data) traffic using various connectivity means including MPLS, IPSEC VPN and others.
•First-hand knowledge in designing network security solutions to enable integration of virtual and cloud computing environments leveraging products such as VMware Vshield.
•Knowledge of various perimeter security solutions technologies in the data center and branch office environments including firewalls, remote access VPNs, IPS/IDS systems and Secure Web Gateway solutions is desirable.
•Strong ability to document processes, procedures and network designs clearly and accurately for distribution to internal teams and customers.
•Understanding of other technologies required to run an enterprise level infrastructure.
