Secondary Introduction Text:The Lead Mechanical Engineer performs the engineering design function by applying his/her technical expertise in a professional manner in order to comply with prescribed objectives.

Working within the Aker Solutions - Controls Centre of Excellence in Aberdeen. With the overall objective to deliver standardised, configurable controls system solutions that meet the global market requirements for Subsea Production Systems (SPS).

Responsibilities & Tasks:The role provides the engineering service to design, develop, and configure Distribution Systems for the SPS with the typical product range (but not limited to) of:

- Electrical/Hydraulic Jumpers
- Transfer/Parking Plates
- Test & Flushing Plates
- Subsea Distribution Units
- Hydraulic Production Units - Working Knowledge

And the associate sub-assemblies:
- Hydraulic & Electrical Couplings
- Block & Bleed valves
- Mechanical plates & Structures

Qualifications / Personal Attributes:Degree or HNC/HND with relevant industry experience
Demonstrable relevant Mechanical Engineering experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry
Will have a sound working knowledge of offshore industry best practices
Demonstrable experience in the ability to carry out all elements of mechanical design within Topside & Subsea Controls Systems covering Hydraulic and Electrical Power Distribution and Supply, Instrumentation and Flow measurement, material selection, and welding practices
Candidates/job-holders without the relevant formal qualifications above but possessing other academic or vocational qualifications or who can demonstrate a greater level of relevant practical experience with a proven track-record may be considered equally competent
Must have a proven involvement with multi-disciplined Projects, and be familiar with equipment and activities throughout all levels of business.
Review of Electrical & Hydraulic Schematics and Specifications.
Good understand of Control System Hydraulic/ Analysis.
Working knowledge of MathCAD or similar analysis package.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
Working knowledge in SAP.
Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Working knowledge of ENet
Working knowledge of Synergi, NCR's
Working knowledge of KIP or equivalent competence tools
Working knowledge of SPS
Working knowledge of Project Life Cycle Interface - Documentation and Verification
Working knowledge of Document Control Execution
Set objectives, monitor progress and if necessary take corrective action and generally control the performance of both self and if appropriate, others.
Get self starters and others started in order to achieve tasks and overcome problems as well as assisting those who are not natural self-starters.
