1st Executive are currently working with one of the UK's leading Construction companies who have developed a unrivalled reputation for delivery and service across a number of high profile clients/contracts. Due to their continued growth within their centralised procurement function they are looking to recruit for 2 IT Category Managers to be based in their North East office.

Working in the capacity of IT Category Manager you will be responsible for the successful delivery of the Telecommunications or Software categories ensuring that the defined sourcing strategy is managed and delivered across theUKwide business units.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a number of duties including -

* Innovate sourcing and contract arrangements across a number of suppliers
* Development of category and sourcing strategies throughout the business
* Delivery of KPI's and service standards as defined by the OpCos
* Identify and respond to new opportunities with the IT supply market
* Act as a Centre of Expertise for the IT Categories
* Provide accurate reports across supplier performance against target expenditure
* Liaise with OpCo stakeholders to ensure all business needs are met

As IT Category Manager you will posses an in depth/expert knowledge of the IT Category with a focus on either Software or Telecommunications, strong communicator with the ability to liaise and influence across all levels, commercially focused coupled with a track record of leading/managing teams whilst delivering a number of projects.

Ideally you will be currently working within aUKwide role and be comfortable undertaking the challenges this brings including liaising across various OpCo's and travelling to various sites/offices.

These roles are seen as key hires within the centralised procurement team and on offer is the chance to join a developing procurement function whom are pushing to create a Best in Class procurement function.

Requirements

* IT Category expertise with a focus around either Telco or Software
* CIPS/MCIPS Qualified
* Proven track record of delivery and savings across specific categories
* Forward thinking and commercial approach to procurement
* Strong influencing and communication skills
* Full UK driving licence
