The Role

To ensure the effectiveness and prevalence of the Quality Management System and the Health and Safety System including the organisation's adherence to the Quality Manual, Health and Safety Manual and supporting Standard Operating Procedures.

Key Responsibilities

+ Provide general support to the QA department in all quality-related matters.
+ Gather and present product quality performance statistics on a regular and timely basis.
+ Help to investigate the root cause of quality related problems and bring about appropriate corrective actions and improvements.
+ Perform internal audits and manage any corrective actions that arise.
+ Attend and generate minutes of quality related meetings.
+ Assist the QA department with the management of the internal Health & Safety System.
+ Identify key quality drivers and implement quality plans for all parts and manufacturing processes.
+ Evaluate rejected parts (from the line, or from Incoming Inspection) in order to identify root cause of the problem
+ Implement corrective actions to correct specs, designs for issues determined to be caused.
+ Evaluate internal manufacturing processes
+ Implement fully validated changes and ECO's to support internal corrective actions.
+ Collaborate with design, manufacturing and purchasing functions and to achieve optimum results, from initial product design through launch and mass production.
+ Implement process certification for components determined to be in a high risk category based on our requirements for customization of suppliers' products requiring a significant deviation from the suppliers' normal processes

Key Attributes

+ Good and effective communication skills at all levels
+ ISO 9001 and Six Sigma understanding

Relevant experience of working in a Quality Assurance role, ideally in a medical, Aerospace or Automotive environment.

Qualifications

+ A degree or equivalent in manufacturing, Quality and/or engineering and/or electronics related subject.

Salary

£35,000 to £40,000 + benefits
