This is a fantastic opportunity to join a developing procurement team within a recognised local business. The role will fit within a growing and structured department and will be instrumental in the success of the Procurement and Supply Chain department.

The successful Category Manager will be managing 1 direct report and a spend of up to £100mil across IS, incorporating hardware, software, telecoms etc.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead a small team to deliver lowest cost and highest standards
- Set clear team targets and manage objectives
- Design and implement the category management approach for IS
- Mange all tender / contract procedures and adherence
- Effectively manage all suppliers
- Effectively manage and liaise with a range of stakeholders

Experience required:
- Strong commercial procurement background
- People management experience
- Degree educated (CIPS preferable)
- Understanding of EU purchasing regulations
- Significant tendering and contract experience
- Category management experience
- Supplier management and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical ability
- Project management experience
- Strong organisation, influencing and communication skills
