Our client an FMCG business are recruiting a Category Manager for Indirect commodities
Role description
The role of Group Category Manager is to maximise value from the procurement of major indirect goods and services categories by creating, gaining support for and implementing Group-wide category sourcing strategies.
This role covers the following Indirect spend categories - Marketing, HR, IT, Professional services, Facilities, Corporate (cars/phones/legal etc). It does not cover Manufacturing consumables, capital and logistics (which are covered by another role).
The (Group) Procurement function does not buy all good and services but is challenged to identify key projects/categories to work on to deliver value.
Who we're looking for
* Design and implement long-term and short-term procurement strategies to deliver increased value to the Group, achieving the optimum balance between cost, quality, service, cash impact and risk management in each category.
* Lead cross-functional teams to deliver the strategic sourcing process, including defining business requirements, gathering data, strategic analysis, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting and supplier relationship management.
* Implement processes to monitor, manage and mitigate commercial and CSR risk within the supply chain.
* Build positive working relationships with key internal stakeholders to create support, and provide resource, for category review activity.
* Promote the business as an attractive trading partner to existing and prospective suppliers.
* Support the Head of Procurement in the creation of the new Group Procurement function and deputise for the Head of Procurement as required.
