DPE: What we do & why
Our aspiration is to help our customers deliver great experiences on our devices and powered by our cloud.
Our customers are those that build apps and services for their customers. A decade ago, this meant professional developers. Today our customers span start-ups, B2C companies, hobbyists and moon-lighters, students, designers, consumer, and commercial software companies to name but a few. Our customers define their success in many different ways but as a group, they innovate, they disrupt and they define the future of industries and markets.

Our mission is to help them succeed on top of the platforms we build.
Every goal we’ve set ourselves in our 3-yr plan maps directly to winning in devices and services. When we do this right, we secure our future as a company, we scale our impact far beyond the people on this team and we get to leave a legacy.

Infrastructure Evangelist

Are you deep into enterprise infrastructure technology, as comfortable talking about client and server as you are devices and services, public, private and hybrid clouds? Having that conversation with 50 to 2000 people at a time and inspiring them to get to know the Microsoft stack more, adopt it in their business and evangelise it on Microsoft’s behalf? Are you equally comfortable diving into 7 hours of demo to a wide audience? If this sounds like fun then you might just be an Infrastructure Evangelist.

Infrastructure Evangelists are responsible for talking to Infrastructure specialists about Microsoft’s products, technology and platform story and inspiring them to take action. As a result you’ll be able to quickly and selectively go deep on technology when required, learning continuously to keep your skills one step ahead. You will also have a deep commercial understanding to build credibility with IT Professionals in infrastructure roles. You will be able to demonstrate an ability to influence their perceptions about Microsoft’s offerings.

Infrastructure Evangelists do many things but on a day to day basis they are strong public speakers, strong technical writers with the ability to create content that infrastructure specialists want to consume, have burgeoning media skills that come across in “to camera” work. Most of all however they are able to combine all of these to deliver a compelling story.

You will be building a larger than life online presence that continually brings you and Microsoft to the attention of new audiences and helps you to put a face to Microsoft. Part of your online presence will include blogging, creating videos and screencasts and social media as well as emerging content medium.

The technical skillset for this role changes quickly, learning is a key to being successful in the role especially given the new release cadence of cloud services and cloud connected devices.
You’ll be able to learn fast, certify fast, teach and explain fast.
Microsoft products such as Windows 8, Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Azure, System Centre, Office 365 should be top of mind and skills such as deployment, datacentre management and virtualisation management should be second nature.

Deep, credible understanding of 3rd party cooperative and competitive technologies are a must and you’ll should be able to translate between competitive and Microsoft products as if second nature.

We look forward to hearing from you …
