IT Technician (1st Line Support Services)

£18,500 to £19,500 + Pay Rise to £20,000 + Training and Development + Benefits Package

IT Technician required by a small and rapidly growing IT support services company based in central Bristol. The role offers training, development and the chance to joining an experienced team with a broad technical knowledge base. You will work on 1st line support calls but will be offered training and development to take your career towards a 2nd line role.

In this varied role you will provide 1st Line to 2nd Line IT support to SME's in and around Bristol. The role is predominately office based (in central Bristol) with the occasional site visit.

A company Director will mentor you and develop you so that you can work independently but with the support of the company.

The Role:

* 1st line support calls through to 2nd line.
* Building servers, domain rollouts.
* Hosted e-mail solution roll outs.
* Networking (VLANS, DNS, DHCP)
* Supporting MS Windows (XP up to 7) and widely-used desktop software (business and residential customers).
* Server administration support, planning and setup (MS Windows Server and Web Hosting/Cloud).
* Problem identification, troubleshooting and analysis of hardware and software issues.
* On-site, remote, phone and email support experience.
* Dealing with urgent and high priority situations.

The Candidate:

* Knowledge of MS Windows (XP up to 7) and widely-used desktop software.
* Knowledge and experience in the role and use of servers (MS Windows Server and Web Hosting/Cloud).
* Knowledge of problem identification, troubleshooting and analysis of hardware and software issues.
* Proficient in the use of internet related applications such as email, FTP and web browsers.
* Calm and effective in high-pressure situations.
* Able to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication with confident phone manner and face to face communication skills.
