Tees, Esk & Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust

These are exciting times in Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, with challenging and interesting work ahead. There's never been a better time to the move into mental health pharmacy.

We are looking for a pharmacy technician with the enthusiasm, confidence and drive to make a real difference to the lives of patients with mental illness.
Previous mental health or hospital pharmacy experience isn't essential, but you will need to be a natural communicator who is full of energy and passionate about working with colleagues, patients and their carers.

Our services extend across County Durham, Tees Valley and North Yorkshire, with our three main pharmacy departments located at Durham (Lanchester Road Hospital), Darlington (West Park Hospital) and Middlesbrough (Roseberry Park Hospital) all accommodated in new hospital facilities. We deliver services for adults, the elderly, children and young people, those with learning disabilities and forensic and substance misuse services; both inpatients and increasingly in the community.

As a Pharmacy Technician, based in Durham, you will undertake a structured training and mentorship programme, working with experienced pharmacy technicians and specialist pharmacists.
This will enable you to develop good clinical pharmacy technical skills and knowledge, across a breadth of physical and mental health disorders.
Your duties will involve working from our sites within the Durham, Darlington and Hartlepool Localities.

We pride ourselves on the provision of a patient focused clinical service, supported by the whole pharmacy team, to ensure medicines optimisation across the range of specialities.
The Trust is committed to Quality Improvement Systems and there will be opportunities to innovate and participate in the development of the medicines management service.
