Genuinely interesting role working for a global Pharmaceutical and Device company who have a reputation for excellence and innovation are searching for an experienced Global Sourcing Manager - API procurement

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Director of Global API Procurement, the Sourcing Manager will initiate, foster, and manage positive relationships with internal customers and external suppliers.

The ideal candidate will source API's falling within specific process technology categories across multiple operating groups and geographies, and will be accountable to generate savings year on year while driving continuous improvement and compliance to all sourcing practices and company policies.

Within this role the successful candidate will develop sourcing strategies and be responsible for category management and supplier management.

This person will work collaboratively with the global API procurement team to conduct needs analyses, gain buy-in, form strategies, and align expectations.

You will make recommendations to key stakeholders for business process re-engineering to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

The ideal candidate will understand market conditions and trends and will investigate innovative methods to obtain the optimal value from goods and services.

The Sourcing Manager will create competitive bidding situations, lead project teams through the supplier selection process, and lead all pricing and contract negotiations.

Developing and managing effective relationships with suppliers, including development of performance measures to assure supply continuity of high quality low cost materials will be key within this role.

This person will analyse category costs and drivers to optimize value, improve the decision making process, and increase the flow of information.

The Sourcing Manager will prepare for and develop strategies and tactics for negotiations, including defining team member's roles and responsibilities.

Qualifications & Experience

*7+ years' experience in product and services strategic sourcing for a Fortune 500 company with an extensive domestic and international presence.

*Negotiations and contracts experience is required.

*Excellent written and oral communication skills.

*Project management experience required.

*Experience establishing and developing new suppliers capable of meeting global multi-regional requirements.

*Proven experience in financial analysis to ensure that negotiated agreements provide the best possible returns for the company.

*Experience prioritizing and managing multiple projects simultaneously, negotiating successfully while still maintaining the relationship, and working effectively with people at all skill and organizational levels, internally and externally.

*Experience working with SAP desired.

*Experience in consumer packaged goods, pharmaceuticals or other manufacturing desired.
