Category Manager based within Sussex for a leading Utilities provider responsible for Construction, Property and Fit Outs.
 
Role description
The Senior Category Buyer position is a role supporting Energy Services to manage a portfolio of Home Energy Management solutions, operations, and maintenance services.

Develop procurement strategy and deliver strategic contracts for a variety of Home Energy Management services to include Building, Heating, Lighting and Appliance technology systems and solutions in support of Energy Services strategic business objectives.
* Work closely with the Business representatives to understand business strategy and objectives in order to source and secure compliant goods and services.
* Manage the end to end tendering process from market engagement and analysis, RFI, prequalification, ITT and evaluation, award and contract management.
* To carry out vendor management to understand changes in markets and technologies, explore relationship opportunities, and realise strategic or commercial benefits from closer alliance.
* Engaging with all support functions including Legal, Health & Safety, Sustainability and other stakeholders, to ensure compliance with governance and overall business ambitions.
* To carry out market engagement, market analysis, and develop strategic solutions to meet business objectives.
* Carry out their role in an ethical manner, and in accordance with procurement policies and procedures.
* To generate and record savings for the company by effective procurement in accordance with annual targets set by Procurement Director.
* Ensuring that third party suppliers and contractors both understand and work in alignment with our health, safety, environment and quality practices and standards.
* Ensuring that our risks are understood and mitigated to an agreed level through effective contracts and development of appropriate professional relationships with our key suppliers and contractors.
* High degree of flexibility to support Energy Services and occasional travel to other locations.
* Identify category, department and group procurement synergies where practical.
Who we're looking for
 

The Successful Candidate will demonstrate:

* Demonstrable experience of developing and implementing procurement strategies for complex high value contracts and projects within a designated category.
* Sound understanding of contractual terms and conditions - Knowledge of NEC or JCT contracts a MUST!
* Experience in managing the tendering and award of contracts for high value multidiscipline contracts.
* Excellent negotiation skills, experienced in negotiating high value and complex multidiscipline contracts.
* Excellent stakeholder management skills with experience and ability in working with Senior Management, advising all levels as required.
* A member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS qualification) or a student member actively working towards the professional MCIPS qualification.
* Extensive high value projects procurement experience.
* Proven experience working with cross functional teams.
* Team player with the ability to promote relationship between the procurement function and its stakeholders.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong knowledge of Bid process management including supplier sourcing, documentation, evaluation and
