Supply Management, based at Fornebu in the Oslo region, responsible for IT sourcing and sourcing processes related to indirect purchase within Aker Solutions' shared services, need a Category Manager

Responsibilities and tasks:
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop category strategy for the IT service/sourcing category
- Identify, plan and lead key procurement activities to meet the strategy
- Deliver purchasing efficiency according to agreed targets
- Identify structural improvements within the category, consolidate volumes and optimize cost structure
- Negotiate with key suppliers to secure volumes at the right price
- Develop long term strategic relationships with selected partners
- Work cross functionally with the IT function
- Participate / lead relevant supply projects
- Analyse and report on category spend development
- Work closely with operational procurement team

Additional responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely to support division or corporate initiatives
- Collaborate closely with legal on contractual issues

Qualifications & personal attributes:
Technical qualifications:
- Competency from IT or technology related supply management is an advantage
- Technical or commercial degree at a high level (master of science, law or MBA)
- Legal background is an advantage (but not a prerequisite)
- IT sourcing knowledge and experience is an advantage (but not a prerequisite)

General skills:
- Minimum 7 years of strategic supply / category management experience
- International business experience from a well known company
- Process excellent command of English, both oral and written
- Strong and high level professional negotiation skills
- Strong degree of motivation and drive
- Ability to work with and manage both internal and external relationships at all levels
- Ability and willingness to travel
- High work ethics

Relational skills:
- Demonstrate project management and leadership skills
- Outstanding interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently, perform under stress and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines
