Job description
This post will be based in Tullibody, FK10
Tullibody Families helps parents and families to ensure their child is safe, well cared for and able to thrive, even in times of difficulty. We help parents and carers understand their child's behaviour while still concentrating on individual needs.
In addition, as a referred service, Tullibody Families is involved in contributing to multi-agency assessments, the purpose of which is to evidence parental strengths and difficulties and to be part of contributing to plans and action to build capacity when gaps are identified.
Tullibody Families is a service striving to enhance the quality of life for young children through making lasting, positive difference for them and their families.
This new service will build upon the work of the core Tullibody Families Service by providing an Assertive Outreach service to vulnerable families within Clackmannanshire and the Rapploch area of Stirling.
We seek a motivational and motivated Assistant Family Support Worker who can work within the Assertive Outreach team to support the delivery of the service. You will part of a structured intervention for carers that will help them to commit to changing behaviours that bring about lasting difference for their children.
You will support Family Support Workers to deliver ndividual packages of support will be tailored to the needs of each family and participate in the creation of robust assessment processes which will then be used to inform the creation of outcome focused interventions.
As an Assistant Family Support Worker you will be expected to work professionally to deliver an of effective, safe practice to vulnerable families at all times.
You will be expected to work closely as part of the Assertive Outreach team to integrate the work of this service alongside a number of other agencies to offer an holistic approach to improving outcomes for the child or children at the centre.
Successful candidates will be:
- Providing intensive support to families during their difficult times;
- Offering flexible service to families by meeting them at convenient times (including evenings and weekends);
- An experienced team player
- Generating outcome-focused case planning to support families in achieving positive changes;
- Establishing close inter-agency working relationship to ensure the safety of children and young people and to optimise opportunities for positive outcomes.
Essential Requirements:
- SVQ 2 in Early Years work or with working with young children in a social care environment or equivalent
- Experience within social care environment of working with young children and their families
- Knowledge of child development and professional approaches to working with children & families
- Commitment to make a difference in vulnerable children/young people
- Commitment to flexible working - includes evenings and weekends
- The position is subject to PVG scheme
- Full UK drivers licence would be an advantage.
