The Strategic Buyer, based in Doncaster, South Yorkshire willlook to effectively manage suppliers to ensure effectivecost saving and product availability. The role will cover all the Manufacturing expenditure for the relevant UK sites.
TheStrategic Buyer key responsibilities will be:
*Manage and negotiate withsuppliersto ensure the departmental and company cost saving targets are achieved.
* Develop and source suppliers relevant to the group and your function.
* Rationalise suppliers in order to establish the best possible supplier base in relation to theorganisations needs.
* Ensure that purchasing are fullyinvolved in NPD initiatives and support other departmentsin these introductions.
* Set strategy and budget saving objectives to ensure that KPIs are met in OTIF, stock and future savings.

Who we're looking for:
The successful candidate for the Strategic Buyer role will be based in Doncaster but responsible for all relevant UK sites of the business. This person must have the following skills/qualifications:
Excellent negotiation skills, able to influence at all levels
Capable of building category plans and implementing higher level purchasing strategy
Clear understanding of the purchasing process
Relevant industry experience
Ability to network and build strong relationships both internally and externally in a multicultural environment (Europe).
SAP experience (user and/or process owner)
Graduate level or at least 5 years strategic purchasing experience.
Able to travel according to job demands, both nationally and internationally
Ability to balance and manage supply risk
Ability to use own initiative to create cost saving ideas through to implementation
Ideally, the successful applicant will be CIPS qualified as well as also havingexperience of operating in a Manufacturing environment, in which they have sourced both raw materials for direct processesand also indirect services to supportan organisation.
