The Company
My client is a fast growing and innovative food supplier based in the North of England. We are currently recruiting for the brand new and exciting role of Buyer to join their high performing purchasing function. This position offers excellent career progression within a reputable organisation of over 20 years standing.
It is essential you are a strong negotiator and have robust FMCG buying experience.
The Role

Key areas of the role will include:
* Managing the customer relationships and P&L account in respect of your portfolio/ category of products
* End to end supply management including - NPD, promotions, quality and delivery
* Data analysis to make fast, commercial business decisions
* Competitor Analysis
* Your initial key focus will be to categorise all the current suppliers and consolidate the quantity without jeopardising the versatility for innovation
* Chairing structured supplier meetings targeting making savings

The Candidate
* A Buyer within the Food industry with the ability to influence at all levels
* Aspirations to take on this brand new role with the goal of growing your own team once the role is established and successful
* You must have a genuine passion for food - be a real 'foodie'
* Excellent relationship building skills
* Strong commercial/entrepreneurial attitude
* Ability to work in a fast paced trading environment
* Strong analytical skills
