The visual merchandising manager is responsible for achieving an elevated visual merchandising presentation that results in a more captivating in-store experience
and improves sales results. The visual merchandising manager drives results by developing and executing short term action plans and long term strategies. The visual
merchandising manager partners with and supports the broader Sales Leadership Team and field visual organization on visual merchandising presentation, brand guide
planning and execution, merchandising sell down strategies, visual training/capability-building, and overall strategies to optimize the use of real estate to drive
profitable sales growth and build brand equity.
Delivers a best-in-class, captivating, branded customer experience that builds loyalty and enables consistent sales and profit growth:
* Fosters a customer-centric culture, where the full energy and activity of the store team are focused on delivering highly satisfying customer experiences
* Serves on Sales Leadership Team and is responsible for total store results
* Supports Sales Leadership Team in achieving and maintaining visual and merchandising presentation standards
* Leads and supports planning and execution of brand guide in partnership with category managers and brand delivery team
* Understands the opportunities and constraints of the store and uses this knowledge to elevate visual presentation by interpreting brand guide standards to store-specific needs and architecture
* Creates and executes solutions for product placement in line with brand guide direction
* Supports category managers in development and execution of merchandising and sell down strategies
* Communicates and partners with market visual manager to achieve elevated visual merchandising presentation
* Gains business insight and creates SMART action plans that improve execution and results
* Leads and supports execution of brand rollouts and merchandising and presentation initiatives
* Directs window installations, interior displays, product/fixture placement and lighting
* Develops, maintains and updates floor plan and fixture block, in partnership with category managers
* Partners with Sales Leadership Team to identify and resolve all maintenance and housekeeping issues
* Partners with customer experience manager and category managers to maximize use of real estate
* Ensures coordination and optimization of the use, maintenance and storage of fixtures, props and marketing
* Reinforces all activities related to providing a safe working environment
* Supports development and implementation of store strategy to reduce shrink
* Creates an awareness of and builds capabilities in loss prevention by fostering a culture of honesty and connecting the links between customer service, associate engagement and shrink
Builds a high performance team:
* Attracts, recruits and hires highly qualified associates to support the functions of visual merchandising and brand guide
* Owns talent management lifecycle of direct reports including onboarding, assessment, retention, career development, succession planning and recognition
* Builds visual merchandising and presentation capabilities with total store team through onboarding, coaching and dedicated workshops and training events
* Communicates effectively with Sales Leadership Team, associates and peers, including cascading relevant information to direct reports
* Educates and communicates changes to visual merchandising standards to Sales Leadership Team and associates
* Motivates and inspires Sales Leadership Team and associates to maintain visual and merchandising standards
* Understands and demonstrates Limited Brands' values
Takes responsibility for the following metrics, in addition to performance evaluation criteria and supporting key total store metrics:
* Overall store appearance
* Availability of merchandise
* Retention
Job Requirements
* Superior visual merchandising and presentation skill set; portfolio preferred
* Knowledge of industry competitive landscape and seasonal trends
* Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently
* Demonstrates business acumen with strong strategic and analytical skills
* Proven ability to facilitate visual merchandising training and workshops
* Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to work collaboratively
* Proven ability to assess visual talent and build a high performance team
* Schedule flexibility to include evenings and weekends to meet demands of the business
* Visual merchandising/presentation experience with a leading specialty retailer or brand of comparable volume/velocity; 3-5 years preferred
