Purpose of the role:
To engage with the Personal Lines (PL) Business Partners and key business stakeholders to ensure that the business teams have the necessary information and advice to ensure alignment of their decision making with financial objectives, long term value maximisation and strategic priorities. Work flexibly with, and where appropriate manage, other Financial Analysis resource to ensure that PL business priorities are addressed.
Key Accountabilities:
To work with the Business Partners across Personal Lines to ensure that business priorities and issues are understood and treated appropriately in defining and creating the analysis, information and advice to drive improved business performance
Maintain interaction with appropriate business stakeholders to ensure the quality, relevance and commerciality of output
Develop robust and insightful analysis to support business decision making, including
Budgeting and Forecasting
Preparation of Budgets & Forecasts including scenario planning and optimisation
Developing the models and tools necessary to ensure accurate reflection of performance and business plans
Ensure visibility and transparency of assumptions within Forecasts
Business case construction
Support project teams in creation of Investment Appraisals including robust challenge of business assumptions
Liaison with governance and reporting teams
Ad hoc support, e.g. cost analysis, allocation modelling, LTV development, Competition Commission responses
Support the business partners and category managers in developing the analysis and MI necessary to address business priorities
Support the business partners in assessing month end financial performance and on-going KPI trends to inform, challenge and support the business and finance stakeholders in achieving budgeted commitments
Where appropriate, support relationships with 3rd parties and partners with relevant reporting and commentary
Where appropriate, manage junior Financial Analysis resource to support the delivery of output and objectives
Apply lean principles in the pursuit of improved quality, efficiency and effectiveness
Share best practice across other Business and Operational Finance analytics teams to drive up broader team capability
Work with other analytical communities, e.g. actuarial and pricing, to reduce duplication of effort, improve efficiency and collectively improve the aggregate business understanding of key analytical issues
Technical Competencies
Exceptionally strong financial modelling skills and ability to apply of modelling best practice
Qualified Accountant
Strong interpersonal influencing skills
