Shipping Manager (Implant) required to manage a small team for this Dorset based fashion Retailer. You will have a sound import shipping background (air/ocean) with commercial retail shipping/forwarding experience.

Work with Product Operations Manager to develop and implement a strategic shipping plan that ensures all delivery timescales are achieved.
Receive order requirements from Sales Dept and place with allocated suppliers, negotiating production schedules and delivery dates
Oversee deliveries from suppliers and into customers
Oversee progress of all orders from salesman samples to final production using critical path management
Manage and develop your team to ensure they are motivated, competent, commercially astute, dedicated and efficient.
Liaise daily with suppliers on all shipping and order placement issues
Manage in-season repeat opportunities, liaising with suppliers to obtain quick turnaround on established styles
Oversee Purchase order cycle, ensuring all details are correctly logged and processes followed.
Oversee Letter of Credit Management – setting up LCs in accordance with guidelines, collating orders by suppliers and identifying margins in order or to set up appropriate LCs. Assist with negotiation of terms with suppliers.
Hangtag and Packing Purchase Management, including purchasing of tags in accordance with volume predications and production timelines. Liaise with designers to ensure timelines are met prior to production.
Monitor and report on ad hoc costs / open accounts ensuring as many as possible (eg hangtag & screen costs) are included into FOB cost.
Oversee management of air freight cost re-imbursements, liaising with suppliers where this applies.
Oversee discount Checking and re- imbursements, applying penalties where appropriate for late deliveries.
Oversee chasing of deliveries from suppliers, holding weekly meetings with Merchandising team to discuss issues and confirm priorities.
Oversee management of Customs Classification, ensuring correct categories are applied and advising suppliers. This impacts on quota restrictions and duty payments, which are incorporated into costings information.
